Welcome to Patti's Swim School in Castro Valley, California. We offer swim lessons for adults, children of all ages, and individuals with special needs. We teach infant swimming, water survival skills and provide fully for the needs of Muslim students.
Our school's founder has her master's degree in education and has been teaching since she was 15. Our school opened in 1980.
We teach open water swimming and water safety as well as everything your child would need to know if they are interested in joining swim team. Here at Patti’s Swim School we pride ourselves on being the best that we can be. We construct each lesson to meet the needs of everyone, whether it be children or adult swimmers a like. Due to our small classes, the maximum being our group lessons which are 3 students per one instructor we have the ability to bond with each of our students. This bond gives us a unique ability to better understand how each individual child learns and the best way to introduce new key parts of the Red Cross curriculum.
Most of our instructors have worked with children with special needs, included but not limited to Asperger, autism and motor skill disorders. Some of our instructors even know how to communicate in American Sign Language and are able to teach their lessons using it.
Our year-round facility is clean, warm, and spacious. The pool is always heated to a temperature in the low 90s for the comfort of both the students and the instructors. The pool is 48 feet long with a maximum depth of 10 feet, enabling us to teach diving techniques.
We treat our pool with a saline solution which means it is gentler on your eyes, swimsuit, skin, and hair. This also makes it an ideal environment for infant swim classes.
Two dressing rooms, a bathroom and plenty of seats for parents/guardians are available for your convenience. We encourage you to observe your children swim.
